PDP Expresses Shock Over Prince Abubakar Audu’s Death
Read the press statement from the PDP below...
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is shocked by the news of the sudden death of the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in last Saturday’s Kogi state governorship election, Prince Abubakar Audu. At this critical moment, the PDP refrains from comments on the conduct of the election. That is not important now. What is important at this point is the sanctity of human life. Our deepest thoughts and prayers go to the family of Prince Abubakar Audu and indeed, the APC fold. On this note, the Acting National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Uche Secondus, charges all PDP members in Kogi and across the nation to keep Prince Audu, his family and loved ones in their prayers, as we mourn with them and the people of Kogi state over this monumental loss. Signed: Chief Olisa Metuh National Publicity Secretary

The Walk.
This is a sponsored post
A Walk to Remember in November.
66yrs ago, precisely on the 18th of November 1949, 21 Coal Miners were massacred by the British Policemen led by Captain F.S. Philip (SSP). The Miners were protesting deplorable working conditions and simply asked for improvements. The British didn’t see them as protesting workers but rather as slavers and savages that deserves nothing more than what is given to them.
William Nwahu, Sunday Anyasodo, Levinus Okechukwuma, Okafor Ageni and 17 others who became the first martyrs of our Nationhood have since become unsung heroes leaving history to have a repeat. On Saturday 21st November 2015, A Memorial Walk will hold in honor of them who gave their lives so that a Nation shall stand. Their colleagues will lead the walk to show people what was and what we have neglected.
The Walk will start from the National Museum of Unity Enugu, to Asata Coal Compound, and end at Iva Valley Coal Compound. As you take part in this Walk, one question that should be on your mind is “What happened to the Coal”?

Two U.S. flights to Paris diverted by bomb threats
Two Air France flights headed from the United States to Paris were diverted because of bomb threats, officials said.Flight 65, en route from Los Angeles to Paris, was diverted to Salt Lake City after a bomb threat was called in from the ground, a U.S. government official said.
The official did not know whether anyone was arrested and was not aware of any unruly passengers on board.
Shortly afterward, Air France Flight 55 from Washington's Dulles International Airport to Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris was diverted to an airport in Halifax, Nova Scotia -- also because of a bomb threat, a government source said.
Air France Flight 55 lands at Halifax Stanfield International Airport in Canada.
"Several law enforcement agencies are working ... to determine the nature of the threats which caused the aircraft to divert," FBI Special Agent Todd Palmer of the Salt Lake City division said.
No U.S. military aircraft were scrambled in either incident, NORAD spokesman Preston Schlachter said.
"Diversion of flights are the most draconian response to a bomb threat," CNN national security analyst Juliette Kayyem said.
Officers searched the plane that landed in Salt Lake City and rendered it safe, Salt Lake City Airport Police Chief Craig Vargo said.
He said airport officials have turned the plane back over to Air France, which was preparing the plane for departure.
Dasuki says panel never invited him for interrogation
Former National Security Adviser, Colonel Sambo Dasuki (retd.) described reports that President Muhammadu Buhari ordered his arrest, over alleged stealing of billions of dollars earmarked for arms purchases, as not only surprising but embarrassing.
He said the 13-man panel set up by Buhari to audit the procurement of arms and equipment in the Armed Forces and Defence sector from 2007 to date, never invited him (Dasuki) formally or informally to appear before it, hence didn't know how the panel came up with the interim report without contacting him.

“For the record, I am proud to serve my nation with the best of intention and ensuring the recovery of more than 22 local government councils from Boko Haram terrorists.
“Because of the pride on how we tackled terrorism and defeated Boko Haram terrorists through our gallant troops and partners in the twilight of the previous administration, that is the reason I have insisted on open and public trial of my stewardship rather than secret trial in the court as being canvassed by my prosecutors.”
“I wish Nigerians will go back and reflect on what we did with even little or no supports from some countries, we performed miracles before the emergence of this administration. Even though the committee was to investigate procurement from 2007 to 2015, yet only my name is always being mentioned even when some of the issues were before I came into the government.”

15 month old baby found alone in a home several days after her grandmother died
Authorities say a toddler was found alone in a Tennessee home several days after her grandmother died.
The Knoxville News Sentinel reports a Maryville Police Department report says the 15-month-old girl was found alive but dehydrated and very hungry on Saturday.
The police report says her grandmother, 58-year-old Anette Ineichen, was found dead in the house. Officials believe she had been dead for some period of time.
Police Chief Tony Crisp says the child was brought to a hospital, where she was treated for dehydration and lack of food. Crisp says the child has been released into the care of the Department of Children's Services.
Police visited the home after the toddler's mum said she couldn't reach her own mum on the phone for some days.
Ineichen's daughter, 28-year-old Tracy Ineichen, says her mother had been caring for the child since she was jailed in September.
Police say Anette Ineichen's cause of death hasn't yet been determined.

They were reportedly brought to the police in the last week of September, Adesuwa, who was on duty, had received the baby but failed to document the incident.
However, on Monday, November 9, when Toyin showed up at the station to ask for her baby, the sergeant pretended that she didn't know her.
A police source said:
“The incident happened at the Akinpelu Police Division. The sergeant received the report of a mentally deranged woman and her newborn baby. But on the same evening, she was said to have arranged for the woman and the baby to be put inside a car and driven away by unknown persons.
“At a junction, the baby’s mother was given N500 and asked to alight. The car drove away with the baby. It was on Monday, November 9, that the mother unbelievably showed up at the station to ask for her baby. The sergeant initially denied ever meeting her.
“The DPO was later informed, and took all of them to the Area Commander, and then the female sergeant was arrested. The baby has now been recovered.”
Another source, who claimed to have spoken with Adesuwa after her arrest said:
“The mother of the baby came to ask after him about two months after and that was when the bubble burst. When Adesuwa denied ever knowing her, the baby’s mother was enraged and went to report to the DPO.
“The DPO then ordered that Adesuwa be detained. That was when she confessed to the DPO that the baby had been taken to her village, and later sold in Port Harcourt. The suspect, was however, able to help in recovering the baby.
“The woman, who helped her to carry the baby to Port Harcourt, has also been arrested. She (Adesuwa) told us, her police friends, that it was the devil that pushed her to commit the crime.”
The Lagos State Police Public Relatisons Officer, DSP Joe Offor, confirmed Adesuwa’s arrest, adding that investigation was ongoing.
He said, “The sergeant was arrested in connection with a stolen baby boy. Investigation is ongoing.”
